Friday marks the last day for early voting in Texas, where officials have seen a strong turnout ahead of Tuesday’s presidential election.

Alicia Pierce, Assistant Secretary of State for Communications, said nearly 7 million Texans have cast ballots early.

"And when you look at early voting in person and then early voting by mail, we already have about 40% of registered voters who've cast a ballot," she said.

For those voting by mail, a new tracking portal is available on the state’s website at VoteTexas.gov, allowing voters to monitor their ballots' status. The portal also provides an option for voters to correct errors on their mail-in ballots.

Election Day is set for Tuesday, and officials anticipate high turnout and long lines as polling locations open statewide.
