Flower Mound police are looking for the thief who broke into a mosque on Monday to steal donations meant for earthquake victims in Turkey and Syria.

Flower Mound PD says the mosque on Peters Colony Road was entered by someone who forced open a half-dozen metal lock boxes containing checks or cash donations.

The exact amount stolen is unknown.

The Islamic Association of Tarrant County is circulating a photo showing a man they believe was casing the building Sunday. They say he was driving a white Volkswagen SUV with Virginia license plate UYZ5770.

Anyone with any information or video of the incident is asked to contact the Flower Mound Police Department tip line at 972-874-3307.
