ERCOT and the Public Utility Commission are joining in asking Texans to conserve electricity use from 6 a.m. – 9 a.m. Tuesday, January 16.
That's because of the freezing temperatures, very high demand and unseasonably low wind.
The PUC says operating reserves for the Texas power grid are expected to be low Tuesday morning.
ERCOT is not experiencing emergency conditions but says they will monitor the weather closely along with the PUC.
