A gas main break in Melissa led to a current and huge evacuation.

Melissa Fire Department reported that construction crews were working in the area of Melissa Road and Fannin Street earlier Tuesday. Crew members accidentally damaged the gas main break during that time.

Atmos is now on the scene fixing the break while the city is currently evacuating people in the area of West Melissa Road and East of Fannin Street. A shelter is set up at Melissa High School's cafeteria.
