Execution date reset in McKinney real estate agent death

McKinney (1080 KRLD) - An execution date has been set for the man who was convicted of the capital murder of a McKinney real estate agent 15-years ago. Kosoul Chanthakoummane is now scheduled to be put to death on November 10th.

A jury in McKinney found Chanthakoummane guilty of the July 8th, 2006 stabbing death of Sarah Ann Walker. Her body was found in a model home in the then-developing Craig Ranch area of McKinney. The medical examiner said she had been stabbed 33 times and suffered bite wounds.

It was the bite wounds that helped convict, then later, halt the execution, which had been set for July 19th, 2017. The courts began reviewing cases that used bite marks as identifying wounds that could be traced to an individual.

The courts were later able to resolve the issue in Chanthakoummane's case.
