Extra security has been added at Everman High School today because of a recent school shooting threat on social media.
Everman school administrators say they were made aware of the threat Wednesday night around 9:00 p.m. The threat was circulated on the social media site Instagram.
Early Thursday morning, the district advised that the FBI had traced the Instagram account to the source of the threat. Administrators say "although the investigation continues, Everman PD & FBI believe there is no ongoing or present threat to EHS. We will have an increased police presence."
Just last Friday night, two young men were arrested outside the Everman High School football stadium with a gun and at least 60 rounds of ammunition.
