Fair Park will be turned into a drive through vaccination hub

As soon as next week, the vaccine hub at Fair Park in Dallas could be transformed into a drive thru model.

Dr. Philip Huang, Dallas county's Health and Human Services Director, says they believe they have the capability to vaccinate around 1,000 people an hour if the state gives them enough vaccine.

"We have 9,000 doses a week. But right now we believe we have the ability to vaccinate 10,000 to 12,000 people a day if we are given enough vaccine from the state," Huang says.

This week the county received an allotment of 9,000 doses of vaccine for the Fair Park hub.

Since the Fair Park site opened they have administered over 31,000 first doses of the vaccine and just under 1,800 second doses.
