Fort Worth is losing a middle school in the district and that has several families concerned.
It was recently announced that the Wedgwood 6th Grade campus is shutting its doors. Next school year all students from the campus will move to Wedgwood Middle School, according to the Fort Worth ISD.
Enrollment at the sixth grade campus is down and Fort Worth ISD anticipates a budget deficit next school year and needs to cut costs. Right now, there are only a little more than 200 students on the sixth-grade campus.
Wedgwood Middle School currently has 530 seventh and eighth-grade students. The district expects about 750 students next school year. Wedgwood Middle is also undergoing renovations.
