Dallas police have arrested a man they say is a suspect in a string of robberies at fast-food restaurants. The robberies started in February 27th and affected businesses in Dallas and Farmers Branch.
Police say in each case, the suspect would go into a restaurant and display a weapon. After the robbery he would flee the scene in a gray Kia Soul.
The DPD Fugitive Unit worked with Robbery Detectives to identify 25-year-old Anthony Barnes as the suspect. He was arrested on Tuesday on a charge of aggravated robbery.
"This arrest should send a continued, strong message that the Dallas Police Department, along with our community, will not tolerate this criminal behavior," said Dallas Police Chief Eddie Garcia.
The suspect robbed several locations of Burger King, Wendy's, and Taco Cabana plus one Jack in the Box. Several of the locations were in the northern part of Dallas, including restaurants on Royal Lane, Coit Road and Walnut Hill Road, but the police department also links the suspect to robberies on Ledbetter Drive and I-30 near Cockrell Hill Road.
