The FBI has released some of the writings they have uncovered from the gunman who targeted a Dallas ICE facility this week.

Special Agent in Charge of the Dallas Field Office Joe Rothrock said one note they discovered said "Yes it was just me."

"We have been able to confirm that Jahn legally obtain an 8mm bolt-action rifle he used in the shooting in August of this year," Rothrock said. "Based on our investigation to date, we believe Jahn acted alone."

Rockrock said other writings indicated that Jahn did not think he would come out of the attack alive.

Other writings indicated Joshua Jahn believed people working for ICE go to work to collect a dirty paycheck.

"He wrote that he intended to maximize lethality against ICE personnel and to maximize property damage at the facility," Nancy Larson, Acting U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Texas said.

We asked Special Agent in Charge Rothrock with the acting U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Texas saying this was the definition of terrorism, if the scope of the investigation has changed. It has not. It is still being investigated as an act of targeted violence.

Three detainees were shot during the attack and one of them died. The other two are being treated at a Dallas hospital.
