FedEx Supply Chain Logistics & Electronics, Inc. is closing its logistics campus in Coppell, Texas by late April 2026, a move that will eliminate 856 jobs, the company announced in a formal notice to the state.
The shutdown stems from a major customer’s decision to shift its business to another third-party provider, prompting FedEx to wind down operations at the facility located at 840 W. Sandy Lake Road.
Layoffs are set to begin Jan. 16, when approximately 62 employees will be let go, with remaining reductions scheduled through April.
FedEx says some workers may be eligible for reassignment to other local facilities, and the company plans to offer affected employees job placement assistance, relocation support and severance where applicable.
This closure marks the second major round of layoffs by the company in North Texas this year — earlier in 2025, a Fort Worth facility shed more than 300 jobs under similar circumstances.
The shutdown affects a large workforce and underscores growing challenges for logistics and supply-chain operations in the region amid shifting customer contracts and broader economic headwinds in Texas’ manufacturing and distribution sectors.
