A Fort Worth police officer was injured when his vehicle was involved in a crash while he responded to a call on the city's east side Monday afternoon.
The crash occurred at the intersection of Interstate 820 and Meadowbrook Drive, leaving the police vehicle with its front passenger wheel hanging off an overpass.
The other vehicle involved in the collision contained four occupants, all of whom were transported to the hospital, with one in critical condition. The police officer was also taken to the hospital but is expected to be OK.
Authorities have not yet disclosed whether the officer had their lights and sirens activated at the time of the crash. The intersection was closed for investigation as authorities worked to determine the circumstances of the accident.
