Maybe you were an almost-pro athlete. Or maybe they just could never catch you on the playground. You might be just the athlete the American Flag Football League (AFFL) is looking for.
"It's your speed, it's your agility, it's a faster game," says AFFL president Brian Michael Cooper. "The idea is that we're looking for people from all backgrounds."
The AFFL is starting a pro league in 2024, and Dallas (along with Boston, Nashville and Las Vegas) will be one of the league's first cities.
If you're 18 or older, you've got the shot to try out for an AFFL pro league roster spot this weekend in Irving.
Tryouts are Saturday, July 22 from 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. and Sunday July 23 from 8:00 a.m. – early evening at Trinity View Park 2221 E State Hwy 356, Irving, TX 75060 on Fields #1 and #3.
Athletes from all backgrounds are welcome as players will be selected based on a combination of demonstrated athletic skill, previous experience and tryout performance. Tryouts will last for most of the day and will include measurements, drills and scrimmaging.
