Flower Mound police found three people dead inside a home Wednesday morning after a welfare check on the 10700 block of Sunrise Circle.
Officers were sent to the house at about 10:43 a.m. after two residents failed to report to work and family members could not reach them, the Town of Flower Mound said in an official news release. Based on what they found at the scene, officers entered the residence and located three deceased people inside. Police said there is no indication of an active threat to the community.
The Dallas Morning News reported that the department first shared those details in a social media post and that officials did not immediately provide more information Wednesday night, including the identities of the three people or how they died.
NBC 5 later quoted Flower Mound police Deputy Chief Henry Lucio as saying the victims are believed to be related and that gunshots appear to have been involved. Lucio said the investigation was still in its early stages Wednesday night, detectives remained at the house nearly 12 hours after the first call, and police had not released names or details about the circumstances of the shooting. He also said authorities believe the case is isolated.
FOX 4 said anyone with information is asked to call the Flower Mound Police Department tip line at 972-874-3307. The Star-Telegram reported that identifications would come from the medical examiner’s office.
Sunrise Circle sits in northern Flower Mound near the Argyle area. The Flower Mound Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division is handling the case. Additional information will be released as it becomes available, police said.
No suspect information has been made public. Neighbors and others who may have seen activity around the home before officers arrived are being asked to contact police.
