Charges have been dropped against a former Dallas police officer who had been arrested in the deaths of two people.
On Wednesday, a Dallas grand jury decided not to indict Bryan Riser, a veteran of the Dallas Police Department since 2008, on two counts of Capital Murder.
When Riser was arrested, Dallas Police chief Eddie Garcia said a witness came forward claiming he kidnapped and murdered 31 year old Lisa Saenz at Riser's direction.
Garcia said the witness also told police he was instructed by Riser to kidnap and kill Aubrey Douglas around the same location as Saenz.
The Grand Jury decided that there was not enough evidence in the case to indict Riser, and the charges have been dropped.
In May 2017, Riser was arrested after being accused of misdemeanor assault family violence causing bodily injury.
Riser had been with the department since August 2008 and was assigned to the South-Central Patrol Division.
