A Denton County jury on Tuesday sentenced a former youth softball coach to 75 years in prison for sexually assaulting a woman during a burglary and for additional allegations involving women and girls.
Jason Warren, 40, a former Denton resident, must serve at least 30 years before becoming eligible for parole.
The jury on Friday convicted Warren of burglary of a habitation with intent to commit sexual assault in a Denton Police Department case from November 2020. Investigators said DNA evidence from that case and another from March 2020 later led to the reopening of multiple cold cases.
During the punishment phase, jurors learned Warren had been indicted on five other charges in Denton County, convicted of a similar offense in McLennan County and accused of misconduct involving underage students at Marshall High School.
