A former Lewisville ISD teacher has been sentenced to 20 years in jail after he pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including the sexual assault of a 10-year-old girl.
John Collett, who taught at Camey Elementary School in The Colony, pleaded guilty to aggravated sexual assault of a child and improper relationship between an educator and a student.
The student told her mother the assaults took place in 2023, when Collett and the student were alone in a classroom after school.
Collett will also be required to register as a sex offender.
