Former Wylie East Assistant Principal Zachary Neu arrested

Wylie Police Department

A Wylie East High School assistant principal has been arrested on a charge of compelling prostitution of a person younger than 18, according to the Wylie Police Department.

Police said 32-year-old Zachary Neu of Richardson was taken into custody following an investigation that began after authorities received a report that he had been communicating inappropriately with a recent 2026 Wylie East graduate.

Investigators alleged that during the conversations, Neu offered to buy alcohol for the teen and send money for lingerie in exchange for sexual conduct.

Police said the investigation led to Neu's arrest on the felony charge. Authorities added that there are currently no known additional victims connected to the case.

Police say if you or a student have any concerns regarding interactions with Neu, to please contact the Wylie Police Department.

"The Wylie Police Department and Wylie ISD take allegations involving student safety and staff misconduct very seriously. These allegations are thoroughly investigated and addressed when they are reported," said Wylie Police Detective Alexandra Waters in a release. "We encourage parents to speak with their children regarding appropriate communication and conduct with adults and the different avenues to report any interaction that makes them uncomfortable."

The investigation remains ongoing.
