Several cities across DFW are preparing for Tuesday's freezing temperatures by reminding residents of available resources for those experiencing homelessness.
A Winter Weather Advisory will be in place from noon Tuesday until midnight. An Extreme Cold Warning for dangerous wind chills is in effect Tuesday night through Thursday.
IN FORT WORTH
Individuals in need of shelter are encouraged to go to regular emergency shelters, including Presbyterian Night Shelter and Union Gospel Mission. Families can seek shelter at The Salvation Army. If these shelters reach capacity, overflow facilities will be activated as necessary.
Residents can call 311 and press 9 to check shelter availability.
During the day, True Worth Place will be open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. to provide additional support.
More information is available on the city’s Homeless Strategies webpage.
