The controversy over Critical Race Theory erupted at last night's Fort Worth ISD school board meeting.

The term refers to an academic philosophy of civil-rights leaders, scholars and activists seeking to analyze American culture with respect to social, legal and cultural issues of race and racism.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott recently signed a law intending to keep Critical Race Theory out of classrooms.

Last night's Fort Worth school board meeting was the scene of competing speakers, chants and hand-held signs reading, "Erasing History is White Supremacy" and "Education Not Indoctrination."

District spokesman Clint Bond says Critical Race Theory is not taught in Fort Worth public schools.
