On top of the cold and the snow, many in North Texas are now facing water shortages.
Many municipalities are now under boil water notices while other shortages are due to burst pipes.
In any case, many are suffering...so Fort Worth has established five bottled water distribution sites because even the grocery store shelves are bare.
The sites include Trinity Springs Middle School in Keller plus four fire houses: One in Keller, Number 27 on Ray White Road and three more in Fort Worth; Number 9 on Polaris Drive, Number 31 on Longstraw Drive and Number 38 on Park Vista Boulevard.
Distribution is from 8 a.m. today until the supply runs out.
Fort Worth isn't the only city ordering its residents to boil their water. Denton and Arlington are as well, and the North Texas Municipal Water District, which supplies cities including Plano, Richardson, and Mesquite, is encouraging residents and businesses to conserve water because of a spike in demand and to preserve supplies for firefighters and hospitals.
Residents in Lewisville are being urged to "aggressively" conserve water because of unprecendented demand and an outage at a Dallas water plant.
