A Fort Worth firefighter was taken to a hospital after battling a two-alarm fire at a recycling facility Friday morning, officials said.
Firefighters responded shortly after 6:45 a.m. to the blaze at 2101 Terminal Road, near Meacham Airport and the BNSF North rail yard.
By about 9:45 a.m., the fire was under control but was expected to continue burning for some time, department spokesperson Craig Trojacek told the Star-Telegram. Trojacek said much of the fire involved large bales of cardboard.
The firefighter was transported to a hospital with burn injuries, though the extent of the injuries was not immediately known, Trojacek said.
