Fort Worth ISD officials say the district is making key operational changes in response to concerns raised by parents, teachers, and community members.

Superintendent Dr. Peter Licata said the district heard widespread feedback regarding curriculum accuracy, communication practices, staffing levels, and student scheduling issues affecting local campuses.

To address curriculum concerns, Licata said instructional materials, including daily presentation slides, will undergo a rigorous review process before reaching classrooms to ensure accuracy and readiness for teachers. In a move toward greater instructional transparency, the district also plans to make select classroom lesson recordings available to the public.

To improve internal feedback and district-wide collaboration, Fort Worth ISD is establishing a new principal advisory group. The initiative is designed to provide campus leaders with a direct channel to communicate operational and instructional needs directly to the superintendent.

Licata emphasized that the goal of these initiatives is to ensure community feedback translates into direct action that ultimately boosts student academic achievement across the district.
