You can add another North Texas school district where all kids get free meals.

All students in the Fort Worth ISD are being offered both breakfast and lunch for free this school year.

"Allowing them to receive a free breakfast or lunch every day just helps them be more ready to learn," says Alisha Jordan McDonald, vice president of Aramark at Fort Worth ISD child nutrition.

All campuses are covered by the Community Eligibility Provision, which is part of the federally funded School Breakfast and National School Lunch programs.

"Because we have a large number of students that qualify, it makes the entire school district eligible to participate in the Community Eligibility Program," says McDonald.

The best part for students and their parents: There's nothing they need to do to obtain the free meals besides to simply show up at the school cafeteria and go through the line.

"We recognize that filling out the free reduced meal application every year for parents and families was somewhat of a burden," McDonald says, "and we wanted to be able to relieve as much paperwork as possible."
