Fort Worth mall requiring adult supervision for kids this weekend, next Saturday

FORT WORTH (1080 KRLD) - One Fort Worth mall is requiring all kids to be supervised by an adult this weekend and next Saturday.

Hulen Mall's temporary Parental Guidance Required ("PGR") program will be in effect starting at 2:00 p.m. this Saturday and Sunday, as well as on January 2nd.

"In an effort to eliminate the risk of disruptive behavior by unsupervised youth, we made the decision to move forward with a temporary PGR program," says Kevin Davies, the mall's senior general manager. "While everyone is welcome at all times, we simply require our young guests to have adult supervision during certain times. It is our goal to create a family-friendly atmosphere that the entire community will appreciate."

Security guards will be at entrances checking IDs, and those who are at least 18 will be offered optional wristbands.

One adult may accompany up to four youths ages 11-17; there is no limit on the number of youths 10 and younger an adult may accompany.

Announcements will be made inside the mall at 1:00 p.m. those days to allow unsupervised youths to finish their purchases before the restrictions go into effect.

The restrictions apply to all mall property, including the exterior sidewalks and parking lots.
