As many throughout DFW know; the metroplex has grown quite a bit in the last few years. With more and more people moving to Texas, DFW has seen a major jump in population recently. Now, Fort Worth has been named the second fastest-growing major city in the United States after seeing a 2.1 percent population increase from 2019 to 2020.

As the recent Census Bureau figures continue to be revealed, it has shown just how much Texas has grown in recent years. Fort Worth has apparently received the majority of that growth, as according to the Census Bureau, only Seattle, Washington has seen a larger population increase in that time frame. Fort Worth now has a population just shy of 1 million, with 927,720 people living in the city as of July 1, 2020.

“It’s no surprise that it is one of the five fastest-growing cities in the U.S.," said the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce, who claimed the city “is known for warm greetings and hospitality, inviting neighborhoods, and a vibrant and rich culture.” According to Fort Worth Culture Map, Austin also landed in the top five. It seems people moving to Texas will never end.
