FORT WORTH (1080 KRLD) - For the fifth consecutive year, Fort Worth is offering free bicycle rentals on the first Friday of every month.

That means the first free rental of the year is this Friday, Jan. 5th.

The free rides are thanks to North Texas Healthy Communities and Fort Worth Bike Sharing. You can choose between a classic bike or an electric-assist bike. Once rented, you can use the bike for the full day.

There are 60 locations across Fort Worth where you can check out a bike. Aside from the free Fridays, the bikes costs $10 per hour for the first two hours, then $8 an hour after that.

You can take advantage of free Fridays by downloading the BCycle app and using promo code 92020APP to access your free pass.
