The Fort Worth Police Department will launch a number of ways for concerned residents to report illegal fireworks being fired off within city limits as we get closer to the Fourth of July.
Interim Police Chief Robert Alldredge told the City Council they have an e-mail address that will be monitored.
"We also have a hotline for fireworks, the 392-4222," Chief Alldredge said. "The Fire Department gets voluntary staff and civilians to staff those phones to answer the calls and pass those complaints onto us."
Besides the e-mail and hotline, city officials are also encouraging the use of the "My Fort Worth App."
Alldredge said they are also want people to stop the practice of celebratory gunfire over the Fourth of July considering what goes up must come down.
He says celebratory gunfire causes unintended damage to property as well as injury to people and animals.
