A new program aimed to help residents of Fort Worth who are still dealing with property damage from the 2021 winter storm has launched.
The Fort Worth Homeowner Assistance Repair and Rehabilitation Program is for low-income households.
Kacey Thomas is Director of Neighborhood Services.
"Typically, those go to cities and jurisdictions who are in coastal areas who are dealing with hurricanes," she told NBC5.
The grant money will not cover work already done.
"Funds can be used to help with flooring damage, it can help with electrical, plumbing," Thomas said. "We also can do repairs to windows, hot-water heaters."
The program began Monday and runs for 90 days.
