A Fort Worth toddler at the center of a firestorm over her health is now home with her mother for the first time in the three years since her birth.

Tinslee was born premature and had a rare heart condition. She was kept alive through open heart surgery and was kept on a ventilator.

Cook Children's Medical Center eventually reached the conclusion that Tinslee, while not brain dead, had no hope of recovery and could not survive on her own. The hospital sought permission to remove her from life support but Tinslee's mom Trinity Lewis fought to keep her alive.

Late last week, Lewis posted on her Facebook page that Tinslee was home. She goes on to say this journey has been, "nothing but hard and stressful and I am truly blessed I was able to do everything I can to bring her home. She's doing so good."
