It must be something in the water. First, earlier this month, the Dallas Zoo reported a baby giraffe, later named Marekani, had been born on the 4th of July.
Now the Fort Worth Zoo is reporting two new baby giraffes. One of them, a baby boy, was born on July 1st, standing six feet tall and weighing in at 145 pounds.
Then ten days later, a baby girl was born tipping the scales at 132 pounds and standing five-feet-five.
They don't have names yet but the Zoo says "stay tuned."
