The Fort Worth Zoo released more than 50 snakes this week. No need to worry though.

The snakes were released more than 350 miles away in Louisiana's Kisatchie National Forest, the natural habitat of the Louisiana Pine Snake.

Officials say it's a rare and endangered species so the Fort Worth Zoo has been part of a breeding program to maintain a diverse, healthy population of Pine Snakes.

The Zoo hatches and raises the critters and, once a year, they are transported to Louisiana to be released into the wild.
