Four Dallas Cowboys players have been fined by the NFL for their Thanksgiving Day celebration inside a Salvation Army Red Kettle at AT&T Stadium.

Three of the players hopped in the giant kettle while a fourth bopped them on the head in a game of human whack-a-mole.

The four players, all tight ends including Dalton Schultz, Jake Ferguson, Sean McKeon and Peyton Hendershot, were each fined anywhere from $3,944 for Hendershot up to Schultz whose fine will be $13,261.

The act was intended as a way to promote the beginning of the Salvation Army's holiday fundraising drive.

The NFL has not given any rationale for the fines. It's not the first time Cowboys players have used the Red Kettle for a celebration.

In 2016, Ezekiel Elliott hopped inside after scoring a Thanksgiving Day touchdown. He was not fined for that one but he was docked two years later when he deposited both $21 and Dak Prescott in the kettle. Dak was not fined but he did receive a very sternly worded letter from the league office.
