In a significant move to enhance campus safety, the Frisco Independent School District (Frisco ISD) has approved a new school marshal program that will place retired law enforcement officers in full-time security roles at all elementary schools starting in the 2025–26 academic year.

The initiative aims to bolster security measures across the district's 53 elementary campuses.

Currently, Frisco ISD employs School Resource Officers (SROs) at all middle and high schools, with these officers also conducting regular visits to elementary campuses.

The addition of dedicated marshals will allow SROs to focus primarily on secondary campuses, while ensuring a consistent security presence at elementary schools.

The program's rollout is expected to occur over the next two years, with full staffing anticipated by the end of the 2026–27 school year.

Retired law enforcement officers interested in applying can find more information on the Frisco ISD website.

This proactive approach reflects Frisco ISD's commitment to student safety and aligns with broader efforts across Texas to enhance school security in the wake of recent national events.
