A Fort Worth police officer finds himself on the other side of the law.

Ofc. Nickolas Honea turned himself in to the Tarrant County Sheriff's Office after a warrant was issued for his arrest on a family violence charge stemming from an incident in Azle back in late November of last year.

Honea was placed on restricted duty following the incident and was stripped of all of his police powers.

"The Fort Worth Police Department holds its officers to a high standard both on and off-duty," the department wrote in a news release, "and does not tolerate criminal misconduct or unethical behavior."

Azle Police say it issued the arrest warrant immediately after the investigation review was completed by both the department and the district attorney's office.

Honea has been with the Fort Worth Police Department for 16 years.
