Garland is shutting down a drive-through COVID-19 testing site at Johnson Stadium. It was opened in January as the number of new COVID-19 cases spiked around north Texas and people were scrambling to find tests.

The Centers for Disease Control and the Texas Department of Health and Human Services joined forces to offer the PCR test at the site. Garland city officials say the site is no longer needed because tests are now widely available in the community. They're also concerned about the impact of the winter weather that's in the forecast this week.
The COVID-19 testing site at Johnson Stadium will be open through 4:30pm on Tuesday, February 1st. The City of Garland is offering information about other testing resources on its web page.
