Garland police announced Friday that they have taken a serial road rage shooter off the streets.

Garland Police Lieutenant Richard Maldonado says 30-year old Davante Dashaun Chatman of Dallas is suspected in at least three different road rage incidents.

Chatman is charged with the murder of driver Cesar Moreno-Pompa on the LBJ Freeway in October of last year, with shooting at a man on a city street in January and with pointing a gun at another driver last week.

Garland Police are reaching out to other area police agencies to see if they have unsolved road rage incidents that could be tied to Chatman.

In addition to the murder charge, Chatman was also charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon causing serious bodily injury to a driver from the January incident, and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon for the incident on May 12.

Chatman is currently being held at the Garland Detention Center. No bond has been issued.
