A Garland police dog helped officers track down a teenager suspected of robbing a store Wednesday afternoon at gunpoint.
Police responded to the call just before 5:30 p.m. and learned that two teenagers had entered the store in Southeast Garland, near I-30, through the back door. Despite an employee locking herself behind the counter, the suspects managed to get inside. One of them pulled out a gun and demanded cash and merchandise before fleeing.
Officers obtained a description of the suspects and spotted them walking through a nearby apartment complex before they took off running. A K-9 unit later found one of them hiding near an apartment patio. The search for the second suspect is ongoing.
