Garland police say a man stabbed his own father while he was sleeping.
It happened early this morning at a home on High Meadow Drive.
Police say the victim was sleeping, with his wife by his side when 32 year old Ronald Kennedy, Junior came in and stabbed his father several times with a knife.
When officers got to the scene they were told the man was suffering from a mental health crisis, and was in the bathroom and was still armed.
Police were able to de-escalate the situation and take him into custody. Kennedy is now in the Garland jail. His father is in critical condition.
