A large tree toppled over in Euless on Monday, forcing the closure of the street where the tree was growing.
The falling tree also took down some power lines on Oakwood near West Euless Boulevard. The tree fell toward Oakwood and completely blocked the street, It could have been very dangerous but no one was driving or walking by when it fell.
The giant oak is believed to have been one of the biggest trees in Euless.
Oncor was called in to deal with the power lines. It's not clear why the tree toppled but the ground may have been softened by our recent rains plus winds were gusting over 20 miles-an-hour at the time.
