Plano city leaders reached a deal with a high-tech company for a major expansion.
Plano offered some economic incentives to global tech company, Delta Electronics, to expand its manufacturing facility. The Taiwanese company focuses on creating electronic components that are used in cloud data centers, telecom networks, and electric vehicle charging equipment.
Delta Electronics already has a research and development facility in Plano. It also has a factory that makes electronics that are used in data centers and telecommunications networks.
They could get up to $5.8 million based on the number of new jobs they create and the amount they expand their current facilities. Their plans call for two new manufacturing sites in Plano, nearly 500,000 square feet each. It also includes a new office building and hundreds of new jobs created over the next seven years.
