Grand Prairie police officers embark on annual run to honor colleagues who died on the job
By Curt Lewis Nov 04, 2021
It's become an annual observance in Grand Prairie where police completed the Grand Prairie Police Department Memorial Run to visit sites where police officers have died.
Several dozen runners were escorted by Grand Prairie police motorcycles, bicycle officers and squad cars. They made four stops along their eight-mile route to honor four officers; Lyndon King who was struck and killed by a drunk driver at an accident scene, AJ Castaneda who was struck by a teenage driver and knocked off a bridge, Sergeant Gregory Hunter who was fatally shot while investigating a suspicious vehicle, and officer Andy MacDonald who died from Covid-19 last month.
