H-E-B continues its growth into North Texas.

The San Antonio-based grocer has announced that its store on Exchange Pkwy. in Allen will open its doors on Oct. 2—just two weeks from now.

That's just one of several new H-E-B stores coming in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex—stores in Mansfield and the Alliance area of far north Fort Worth will be opening in the spring of 2024, and Frisco's second store is expected to open in the fall of 2024.

The company has also just announced several new locations.

"We're going to be coming to Melissa and to Prosper and to Rockwall with our H-E-B format stores," says Juan-Carlos Rück, executive vice president for northwest food-drug division of H-E-B stores. "And we also had previously announced but we re-emphasize that we're bringing a Joe V's Smart Shop store to Dallas."

Joe V's Smart Shop is essentially a no-frills version of H-E-B.

"You'll see prices that are 15% lower than the competition, but still finding a way to bring the same fresh quality cut meat in store and produce that we serve it an H-E-B, but to a customer who's looking for more affordable prices," says  Rück .

Construction on all of those locations will get underway next year, with the grand openings sometime in 2025.
