With so many H-E-B stores opening in North Texas it might be good to know that Forbes thinks the grocery company is the 2nd best employer in the state.
Second is pretty good, especially in a state as massive as Texas. And only a huge federal agency tops H-E-B on the Forbes Texas list, that would be NASA.
But H-E-B is definitely the top privately owned employer in the rankings.
The top Dallas-based employer is Texas Oncology, ranked 6th. Dallas-based UT Southwestern Medical Center is 17th and Southwest Airlines is 22nd.
The 24th place spot goes to Arlington-based Texas Health Resources, and the city of Plano is 27th and just one place behind is the North American Headquarters of Toyota, also in Plano.
Dallas-based Baylor Scott and White is 38th.
Ranked in the second 50 best Texas employers are Irving-based Christus Health, UT Dallas, the Lewisville school district, McKesson in Irving, Texas Instruments in Dallas and DART.
