Dallas is set to welcome an H-E-B store, marking the iconic Texas grocery chain's first location in North Texas' largest city.
H-E-B has purchased a nearly 10-acre site at the southeast corner of Hillcrest Road and Interstate 635, across from the Dallas County Tax Office. The property, currently home to office buildings, will be rezoned and redeveloped for the grocery store after discussions with neighbors and city officials.
The chain already operates in several North Texas cities, but this will be its first location within Dallas city limits.
In addition to the Dallas site, H-E-B announced plans last summer to open a store in Las Colinas, also located in Dallas County.
