The hearing to decide whether guns should be banned from this year's State Fair of Texas will not take place Wednesday.

District Court Judge Emily Tobolowsky granted a request to delay the temporary injunction hearing so the City of Dallas and the State Fair of Texas have more time to prepare. The hearing, scheduled for Wednesday will now take place a week from Thursday. The new date means a reduced window for a certain appeal giving the losing side only a week and a day to convince the appeals courts to step in.

The dispute started last month when the State Fair announced the no-gun rule....a response to a shooting at the fair last year. Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton filed suit on behalf of Republican lawmakers who say law-abiding citizens should have the right to carry arms at the Fair.
