Members of the Dallas Park and Recreation Board will have to decide how to move forward after recent heavy rains and high winds badly damaged a city park in North Dallas.
Dr. Glynn Newman represents the area of Bert Fields Park near Spring Valley and Preston Road on the Park Board. He recently toured damaged areas of the park.
"Part of the sidewalk is about to collapse because the erosion has set in so bad," Newman said. "It would definitely need some type of retaining wall and again that's something we'd have to take a look at."
Recent flooding from White Rock Creek made a mess of the trail in several areas of the park.
High winds and water also damaged one walking bridge on the south side of the Park near Spring Valley.
