The Town of Highland Park is moving forward with an election asking residents if they want to withdraw from DART.

Highland Park announced this week they are moving forward with their previous decision after the City of Plano decided to cancel their withdrawal election after agreeing to a new funding plan.

Highland Park decided in November to have a special election in May over whether to withdraw.

They reaffirmed this week that the election is still moving forward even though they say discussions with DART regarding the value of transit services are ongoing.

Highland Park says they are the only member city without regional transit such as light rail and they only have a single route operating along Preston Road.
