Scottie Scheffler is the PGA Tour’s new all-time money leader after winning the Tour Championship on Sunday at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta.
The Highland Park product closed with a 4-under 66, finished at 16 under and beat Viktor Hovland by three shots, according to the PGA Tour. The $10 million first prize from the $40 million purse pushed Scheffler’s official career earnings to $130,390,661. Tiger Woods had held the top spot since February 2000 with $120,999,166, the PGA Tour said.
Scheffler started the final round three shots behind Hovland. He stuffed a 5-iron to 2 inches on the par-3 second, tied Hovland with a birdie on No. 4 and took the lead for good on the 13th, the Tour reported. Hovland shot 72 and finished second at 13 under. Ryan Gerard was third at 12 under.

The win was Scheffler’s third of 2026 and the 22nd of his PGA Tour career. It also gave the world No. 1 his second FedExCup title. He first won the season-long prize in 2024. Only Woods and Rory McIlroy had previously won the FedExCup more than once.
Scheffler’s season money total is now $30,937,525, a single-season PGA Tour record, Golfweek reported. McIlroy finished tied for fourth and remains third on the career list at about $119.6 million.
Woods still holds a wide lead in victories (82) and majors (15). Scheffler, 30, has four majors. The comparison on the money list reflects today’s larger purses as much as his run of dominance.
The Tour Championship victory also strengthens Scheffler’s case for a fifth straight PGA Tour Player of the Year award, which players vote on later. Another win would tie Woods for the most consecutive Jack Nicklaus Awards.
