FORT WORTH (1080 KRLD) - Fort Worth Police say a man was hit by a car outside a homeless shelter south of downtown Monday morning. Police say they were called to the 1500 block of Presidio, near True Worth Place and Presbyterian Night Shelter about 3:30.
Police say a man who was sleeping along the curb had been hit by a car. Fort Worth Fire and MedStar both responded, taking the man to the hospital in critical condition.
Police say several people saw what happened. Witnesses said a car stopped in the intersection of Presidio and Pine and started backing up. They told police the car backed over the victim and then drove off.
Police had not found the driver Monday morning.
